Papagayo

Today, Peanut and his school classmates put on an amazing performance of Papagayo, a folktale about a parrot, a moondog, and all the night creatures that live in the jungle.  The children worked with a visiting artist, Anne Cubberly, to create the giant puppet of Papagayo as well as the other puppets and beautiful stage scenery.  Peanut was selected to be the snake, one of the night creatures who was afraid of the moondog and needed Papagayo's help to save the moon.  The production was so cute, with the puppets moving around, great music to accompany the play, and a whole gym full of kids who were proud to have contributed to this community art project.  What a fun day!
