A day in the life....

Sometimes I can't believe how little I'm home, considering I'm a "stay at home mom" (SAHM). Today, for example, I was running around like crazy. Here's how the day went:
  • 9:10 am -- dropped off H. (late) at preschool.
  • 9:30 am -- arrived back home to do laundry, hang out with B.
  • 10:15 am -- drove to doctor's office for B.'s appointment.
  • 10:50 am -- left doctor, came home for backpack and water bottle, then drove to McD.'s for lunch for the boys (I should mention here that I had no deli meat for lunch, hence the hasty trip to McD.'s). B. consumed his lunch in the car so we could pick up H. at school at
  • 11:25 am -- got H. and drove back uptown to drop B. off for school to begin at
  • 12:00 pm -- so now, I have H., B. is at school, and I scurry home to meet Meg at
  • 12:20 pm -- my friend and her 4 kids came over for about 45 minutes, then I finally had lunch at
  • 1:00 pm -- a moment's peace, another load of laundry while H. plays, then at
  • 2:15 pm -- H. and I needed to do errands at the drug store, the wine shop, and then back home for a few minutes.
  • 3:40 pm -- to the bus stop to pick up B., chit-chat with the neighbors, and finally at about
  • 3:55 pm -- the bus arrives, B. gets off, then suddenly remembers his JACKET IS ON THE BUS!!!! Normally, I would say this could wait until Monday for resolution, but B. was insistent -- he really needed that jacket, plus it was a substitute bus driver, so who knows what he would have done with it! So at
  • 3:58 pm -- we were hot on the trail of the bus, about 10 CARS behind it, with no real way to catch it until
  • 4:10 pm -- when it finally pulled into the pot-hole riddled bus lot. I found the bus and it's pony-tailed (male) driver, and B. retrieved his jacket. So then we headed back home and arrived at about
  • 4:25 pm -- my day of schlepping is over!!!! It's now
  • 5:01 pm on Friday afternoon, and I've got some chilled wine to enjoy!
