Last week was Spring Break for the boys, so I decided to drive back home to West Virginia for a few days to visit my mom. We had a great time together playing games, going to the park, visiting local tourist attractions, and eating some of my favorite local fare.
On our first day together, we visited Tamarack, a stop along the WV Turnpike that is really a jewel in the midst of the mountains. It is filled with locally crafted art, furniture, sculptures, pottery, and all sorts of local jams and sauces. Tamarack also has a very nice food court, featuring food from the Greenbrier Resort. So, I indulged in a fried green tomato sandwich and a delicious bread pudding -- two delicacies that are hard to find up yonder in Connecticut!
Here are a few photos from our day at Tamarack.
